This blog has been set up in order to have a place for us to come together outside of class. We will begin our discussions here, in this virtual space, and continue them in class.
Before each meeting, you are required to submit a thoughtful, brilliant comment or question in reaction to the assigned readings. Your deadline is 9pm the night before we meet—not 9:15, not 9:30. This 9pm deadline is a hard deadline, meaning it is not open to negotiation. If you have doubts that you will be able to meet this deadline once a week, please consider enrolling in another course. In addition, you are required to bring a print-out of your comment to class.
I will be looking for thoughtful, provoking, insightful posts. What I do not want is a synopsis of the reading. Any synopsis should be followed by YOUR thoughts about the ideas presented in the readings.
Please also feel free to post links, articles, images, videos, etc. that pertain to class discussions.
